New Braunfels Herald-Zeitung (Newspaper) - March 28, 2003, New Braunfels, Texas PUETZ FIRST 2003 CHAIR OF THE BOARD AWARDEE SUE PUETZ of the SUNDANCE GOLF COURSE is the first recipient of the Chair of the Board Award in 2003 Chamber Chair of the Board RAMON CHAPA of CHAPA ELECTRIC announced that PUETZ received the award in the field of youth development at the Chambers March 17th Board of Directors meeting The award is designed to honor those individuals that make a significant contribution to the community in a specific field of civic endeavor No more than six individuals are eligible for the award each year SUE and her husband ROB built own and manage SUNDANCE GOLF COURSE in New Braunfels The facility is a premiere practice facility with an 18 hole linkstyle executive golf course and lighted practice range The range has been rated in the Top 100 in America by Golf Range magazine each year since the facility opened in 1995 SUNDANCE was also named 2002 Hook a Kid on Golf site of the year PUETZ developed the 5star junior golf program which is extensive curriculum of the fundamentals of a round of golf But more importantly the program teaches integrity stability and stated CHAPA PUETZ was also named the Sporting Goods Manufacturing Association Texas Hero and she currently serves on the Alternative Facilities Taskforce for Vision for the Future PUETZ also formed the Central Texas Junior Golf Association one of the leading Junior Golf Associations in the nation PUETZ and her husband ROB have been invited to be the Chambers guests at the annual meeting and banquet to be held at Friday January 23 2004 at the New Braunfels Civic Center At that time CHAPA will present PUETZ with an appropriate plaque as a token of the Chambers appreciation and recognition for her contributions to the community in the field of youth development CHAMBER MEMBERSHIP TOPS MEMBERS The Greater New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce Inc held its annual member ship drive on March 57 This very successful drive brought the membership to an all time high of over members According to JOHN LOVETT of RIVER CITY BUILDERS and Chair of the Blue Coats Sixtyeight Blue Coats and prospective Blue Coats worked the three day drive The goal was members in 2003 These individuals were very successful in exceeding that goal by signing up over 180 new members and secured over in new dues LYNN LIMMER of FIRST COMMERCIAL BANK TRUDY SOECHTING of NATURAL BRIDGE WILDLIFE RANCH and STONEY WILLIAMS of GUADA COMA MECHANICAL INC all earned their Blue Coats and Individual Life Membership in the Chamber Also earning their Blue Coats were MARTY A victory party was held at the Landa Hans where LINDLEY of COMAL INN RUSSELL STOLLEWERK of FARMERS MUTUthe Blue Coats were treated to a Casino Night to AL INSURANCE and RITA SVOBODA of HEIDELBERG LODGES conclude the drive Page ;
