MCMICHAEL Staff Writer About 50 local residents, business and education leaders who had been slowed down, bumped off and locked up by their Internet service provider for the last time attended Eventus Extravagantly Thursday evening at the New Braunfels Senior Citizens Center at 655 Landa. The event announced the entry of Time Warner’s Road Runner high-speed cable Internet service. Navarro Williams, president of Time Warner, introduced Road Runner, a revolutionary highspeed Internet service offered by Time Warner Cable. Road Runner does not use a telephone line but instead employs a high-speed cable modem to connect to a fiber-optic cable. Up to 70 times faster than a standard Internet service, Road Runner greatly increases the speed of accessing the Internet. Photo Submitted More than 200 chamber members attended the October membership mixer sponsored by Rodeway Inn and Waterfront Grill.
