seeks donations To donate to the New Braunfels ISO Education Foundation con tact Stephanie Ferguson in the School districts public informa tion office at 6435720 Money raised will be used for minigrants for teachers beginning in the spring 2001 traffic Safety Recognition set Members of the New Braunfels Board of Trustees will recog hize lawmakers state officials city county and business leaders jwho were involved in improving traffic safety on Loop 337 in the area of New Braunfels High School during a ceremony on at il 0 Wednesday at NBHS The ceremony on Wednesday will celebrate the efforts of every one working together as partners by combining resources to increase the traffic safety near New Braunfels High School State Senator Jeff Wentworth State Representative Edmund Kuempel and representatives from the Texas Department of Transportation will join school district officials in addressing the need for continued safety Other local dignitaries will also attend the ceremony The new traffic signal a traffic safety arm and a traffic flow plan for the high school will be dedi cated For information about the cere mony contact the NBISD public information office 6435720 Homecoming activities planned t New Braunfels High School homecoming is set for Oct 27 While the Unicorns prepare to take on the Cougars at many organizations are planning homecoming activities A fajita taco dinner sponsored by the schools cheerleaders and dance team members will be served before the homecoming game from 5 to at the high school cafeteria Adult plates can be purchased for in advance or at the door A childs plate can be bought for in advance or at the door Entertainment will be provided Tickets can be bought at First Commercial Bank All American Scrapbook New Braunfels High School office or from any cheer leader or dance team member NBHS cheerleader clinic sponsored The New Braunfels High School cheerleaders will sponsor a cheerleading clinic from 8 to Saturday at performance for the schools 75th anniversary celebration on Saturday at the school 633 W Coll St Directed by music teacher Heather Klossner and written by fourth grade teacher Dave Heefher all students from prekindergarten to fifth grade and some teachers will perform in the 75th Anniversary The pageant will begin at in the school cafeteria Musical numbers will be performed from each decade of the past 75 years Students will wear costumes from the dif ferent time periods The pageant is a retrospective of the past 75 Klossner said Those attending will hear how music has changed over the years and also how music can bring back to our mind a differ ent time in Beginning at 1 the school will be open for tours and a special photo and memorabilia display will be available for viewing in the gym At 2 a rededication ceremony will be conducted in the front courtyard Speakers include New Braunfels ISD Board of Trustees President Bill Biggadike and Superintendent Ron Reaves The pageant on Sept 1 1925 The school has transformed as buildings have been added and renovat ed Carl Schurz is now a prekindergarten through fifth grade neighborhood campus The school was named Carl Schurz
