New Braunfels Herald Zeitung (Newspaper) - February 23, 2000, New Braunfels, Texas rn* % WG l0V6this game When it comes to basketball, there's no greater city than San Antonio, and no bigger fan of the Spurs than Time Warner Cable. As the Spurs defend their World Championship, it was our goal this season to make available as many games as possible to our customers. Unfortunately, Fox Sports Network does not share in our goal. Because of a special agreement between the Spurs and Fox Sports Network, Time Warner was forced to negotiate our own agreement with Fox to broadcast ten extra games. But despite our best efforts, every one of our proposals has been turned down. Now, Fox is asking for twice the amount of their original proposal, making it impossible for Time Warner to carry the additional games without passing on a sizable rate increase to every one of our customers. So we've decided on a different game plan. We are planning to telecast eight games to our customers starting with the February 29th game against the Miami Heat at local establishments free of charge. We will provide additional details soon. We are sorry that we can't bring these games into your home. We want to see every Spurs game as much as you do. And through these special telecasts, we will.TIME WARNERCABLE ;
