Christmas presents will be exchanged with a $5 limit. For information, call 62S>0335. The American G.I. Forum Chapter 1014 will have its monthly meeting Thursday at 7 p.m. at the American Legion Post 179 on Coll Street. Every member is encouraged to attend the meeting. The New Braunfels High School Class of 1944 will have its Christmas dinner reunion from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday at the Holiday Inn in New Braunfels. Contact Mrs. James (Alta) Doerr on or before Dec. 6 to make reservations. The 1942 Class of New Braunfels High School will have its Christmas meeting and dinner at Tree Tops Riverside Grille on Friday at 6:30 p.m. All classmates are asked to bring at least two food items drat will be given to die SOS Food Bank. The Tri-County Chronic Fatigue and Immune Dysfunction Syndrome and Fibromyalia Support Group will have a special guest speaker at its Saturday meeting. Dr. Nona Bertschy of Seguin will explain and demonstrate alphabiotics. All interested persons are invited to the 10:30-11:30 a.m. session at the Comal Bowling Center, 1202 Huisache. The Prince Carl Solms Chapter, Sons of the Republic of Texas, (no connection with the Republic of Texas) will have a business meeting and luncheon at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Pinto Ranch Grill. Jeanette Felger will speak on “Living with Heritage — History of New Braunfels.” VFW McQueeney Post 9213 will conduct its monthly breakfast Saturday from 8 to ll a.m. The cost is $3 for all you can eat pancakes, biscuits, SOS, hash browns, eggs, fruit, coffee, milk and juice. The Diabetes Support Group will meet Sunday at 2 p.m. in the cafeteria area of The Central Texas Medical Center, 1301 Wonder World Dr., in San Marcos. Dr. Kim Panzarella will discuss skin cancer and the effects of the sun. The support group meets the second Sunday of each month and is free and open to everyone. For information call Carolyn Barnes at 512-353-1310. The Albert Kypfer Hermann Sons Lodge #106 will conduct its annual Christmas party on Sunday at noon. Members are asked not to bring a covered dish. Instead, they are asked to contribute $3 per person to help defray costs of a fully catered turkey dinner. Santa Claus will make an appearance that day taking wish lists from children of all ages. Members are encouraged to bring guests and make reservations by calling Vivian Dieter! at 625-4340 or Alice Schaefer at 625-4955. A gift exchange will take place for anyone wishing to participate ($3-5 limit). The dinner will be served at I p m. The Lunch Brunch will be conducting its first meeting Monday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Room C at the Senior Center. The Lunch Brunch is an adult support group with discussions revolving around maintaining independence and dealing with life changes. Lunch can be purchased for $3. Sack lunches are also welcome. The New Braunfels Munch- und Wandergruppe will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Tree Tops restaurant. Entertainment will be the Kindevchor and Pearly Sowell playing for a singalong. Call 625-0742 for reservations. “The First Step** SIDS Support Group of Comal County is meeting Dec. 16, 1997, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at 613 North Walnut, behind Hospice New Braunfels office. Regular meetings are the second Tuesday of every month. No childcare provided. For more information, call 620-0452. AARP Chapter 1823 will meet at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Comal County Senior Center. Refreshments will be served from 9:30-10 a.m. Election of officers for 1998 will be held. Entertainment will be provided during the meeting. St Ann’s Christian Mothers of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church will have their next regular meeting Thursday, Dec. 18, 1997, at 2 p.m. at the K.C. Hall. Election of officers will be held. The program will be music provided by the students from Sts. Peter and Paul School. The Canyon Lake-Fischer Club for Family and Community Education will meet Jan. 20, 1998, at the Fischer Store School Community Center. Refreshments and fellowship will begin at 9 a.m. and the meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m. The subject for the program will be announced at a later date. The meeting is open to everyone. Al-Anon family groups meet at 8 p.m. Mondays and 6:30 p.rn Wednesdays at 1142 Eikel St. Call 625- 0057 for information. The Senior Citizen Club of Comal County meets every second and fourth Monday in the Senior Citizen Center from 8:30 a.m to 4 p.m. Members play card games, dominoes and other games. The Republican Family Club of Comal County conducts its monthly meetings at 7 p.m. the first Tuesday of each month. The club meets at the New Braunfels Christian Church and is open to Republicans of all ages. Those interested in starting a support group for people with IOO or more pounds to lose, call (830) 629-5916. If transportation is a problem, the meeting can come to you. American Legion Post No. 35 sponsors smoke-free Bingo on Saturdays at 1:30 p.m. for early birds and 2 p.m. for regular matches. Bingo action takes place in the Comal County Sportsman’s Club, 252 S. Kowald Lane north of Canyon High School. For information, call 625-5535. An Al-Anon group meets at IO a.m. every Saturday at the First United Methodist Church. Al-Anon is an anonymous fellowship based on the 12 steps adopted from Alcoholics Anonymous for people who have lived with alcoholics. For information, call 606-3680 or 625-4513. Teen Connection will sponsor a support group for siblings of Special Needs children.
