Toys for Tots The New Braunfels Jaycees Toys for Tots has begun. Collection boxes for new and used toys are at World Car Motors on San Antonio Street, Librado’s, Century 21 and Prodigy Day Care, Advantage Rent-A-Car, TCI Cable and Farmers Insurance. Froo mulch Comal County residents are welcome to go to the recycling center, 4755 Texas 46 West, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Thursday and Friday to pick up chips and mulch free of charge. Firewood will be sold for $5 a truckload. Blus Santa Program Help a child have a Merry Christmas by participating in the Blue Santa Program. Look for the Blue Santa Trees at the following locations, Walmart, K-Mart, City of New Braunfels Municipal Building and Sonflowers. Take a Blue Santa from the tree, purchase your gift and either leave it at the stores Customer Service desk or bring to either the Municipal Building or Tree Tops Restaurant, and non-penshable food items also are being collected at these locations. Blue Santa program is a project of the New Braunfels Police Department and Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association. Art show New Braunfels Sterling House is conducting a show of Albert G. MacNaul's paintings. Included are Spanish Missions of the Southwest, Texas courthouses, and miscellaneous scenes from Texas and England Other paintings on display include scenes from the Gulf beaches to the Hill Country, English castles and cathedrals. Stay-at-Hom# Cook lo Baka In response to the county-wide health ban on home-baked goods, the Comal County Aggie Moms’ club will sponsor a Stay-At Home Cookie Bake Plans are being made to have the annual Aggie Moms’ Cookie Bake after the health ban has been lifted, hopefully soon after the first of the year The Comal County Aggie Moms’ Club annually awards several $500 scholarships to graduating seniors in Comal County; in an effort to continue this tradition, donations are being accepted in lieu of baking C hristmas cookies. On Friday, from 3 to 7:30 p.m., they will stencil cars in the high school* parking lot. The cost will be $2 for one stencil and $5 for three stencils. All proceeds will benefit Project Graduation. Class of 1942 msating The 1942 Class of New Braunfels High School will have its Christmas meeting and dinner at Tree Tops Riverside Grille on Friday at 6:30 p.m. All classmates are asked to bring at least two food items that will be given to the SOS Food Bank. The Breakfast Lions Club is ringing at one store for one day. The First United Methodist Church and the First Protestant Church have each volunteered to ring the bells for one full day at all four kettles. Other churches and residents are asked to volunteer The kettles will operate until Christmas Eve. More volunteers for a two-hour kettle duty shift from IO a m. to 6 p.m. are needed All collections will be used in Comal County Buanto Baby Convention There will be a Beanie Baby convention on Saturday from 9 a m. to 6 p m and Sunday from noon to 6 p m at the Marketplace in New Braunfels, formerly Factory Stores.
