happening at NBHS Tomorrow may be Halloween of ficially but tonight is the night to trickortreat at New Braunfels High School New Braunfels High School is hosting a safe free Halloween Hap pening The trickortreating games haunted house and other booths can be found in the schools main hall from Halloween Happening is an an nual event by the NBHS Student Council in cooperation with a host of other NBHS student clubs and organizations The evening is a fun safe opportu nity for young trickortreaters and their parents in the New Braunfels and Comal County area Come out to the high school and shosv off those great costumes Tax deadline looms in NBISD New Braunfels ISD taxes are due by Oct 31 1997 Penalty and interest will begin to accrue on Nov I If you own property in NBISD you have a tax liability If you are a new owner of property your tux state ment may have been mailed to the previous owner However you are liable for taxes on the property If you have not yet received a tax statement or are not sure whether you should have received a statement contact the tax office at 407 W Mill St or call 6256714 for information Many addresses were changed as a result of the 911 emergency sys tem In this case the post office does not automatically forward mail to the new address If your address has changed and you did not receive a statement please notify the tax office of your new address If you own property in both the New Braunfels school district and the city of New Braunfels the city por tion of your tax statement was mailed in June and was due by July 31 1997 The time on a Saturday morning to do a good deed They helped the Comal Area League of Women Voters collect litter for the AdoptAHighway program In typical Marine fashion the cadets had the procedure down to a quick efficient system The students have had a chance to perfect technique since the MCJROTC has its own adopted stretch of road A number of cadets competed in an orienteering meet on the same unanimously adopted a mission statement for tlie school district and a belief statement The board based their final product on the mission statement and values adopted by a committee of educa tors and citizens in 1989 The board worked together to revise and update the mission and beliefs as part of their TEAM POWER train ing completed with Supt Ron Reaves In revising the mission statement trustees sought to make the statement more concise ami memorable New Braunfels Independent School District is committed to providing ex cellence in education for all Mission Statement Governing values We
