New Braunfels Herald Zeitung (Newspaper) - May 21, 1997, New Braunfels, Texas • *    *    ,    May    21,    1997    □    5A    > Archives Anonymous By MICHELLE OATMAN and JOHN MOLER, photo editor Special to the Herald-Zeitung -   ^ Because of two people, we now have a 90 percent identification on a picture that would have gone back into the large group of unidentified photos! Thank you to Mrs. Dallmann and Elburn Kanz for making sure we got most of the names on our ribbon winners, (AA-97-030), two weeks ago. The bowling winners from last week are still a mystery. (AA-97-031) is a group of proud kids whose names we would still like to know. Just like our, ribbon winners, it is never to late! (AA-97-032) is two little girls that also did not receive a call. We are in need of some help. Ask around and see if anyone you know can help us get the names. They are just too cute to not get their names. We usually do very well with Hermann Sons Dance pictures and we have four very cute girls to put names with this week. (AA-97-033) was taken May of 1964 and I’m sure these girls can be recognized right away! The second picture we are asking help with this week will be a lot tougher! (AA-97-034) is a much older photograph, but we have had some success in getting the names of these older pictures in the past. Look in the family album and see if any of these girls might be someone in your family tree! Speaking of family trees, don’t forget that the Sophienburg Archives has many family genealogies from the area already on its shelves. You could have a full history right on our shelves that you had no idea existed. We have a wonderful staff of volunteers who would love to help you track down your ancestors and put them on paper. Your future generations will want to understand who they are and where they came from. It gets a little bit harder to go backward each generation, so now is the time to look into your past! At the Sophienburg Archives we hold a large collection of documents and information. Within our collection we house the ComaJ COunjy, Genealogy library. We are currently indexing the entire newspaper from 1852 to the present, and we have more than one million photos in our collection. If you are from a local family we are sure to have something for you to see! We will help you do the research, or for a small fee, our volunteers will do it for you! As always, KEEP READING! ... KEEP REMEMBERING! ... KEEP CALLING! ... 629-1900! Or stop in at the Sophienburg Archives 200 N. Seguin, The Old City Hall.
