Anthony was held on April 24 1997 at Ryans Steak House in New Braunfels The meeting was called to order by Elo J Goerig state president and Henry Natardus director The 1997 slate of officers were elected Donald Kruppa was elected president Joseph Friedel secretarytreasurer and Anton Matula vice president There were 30 members and guests in attendance Goerig state president gave a very nice presentation of the organization just after a wonderful meal prepared by Ryans Steak House Several nice door prizes were awarded to lucky winners Henry Natardus reported on the upcoming event of Family Day which was held on May 4 beginning at at the Live Oak Lake in Live Oak Texas which is located on Pat Booker near Universal City TX The day consisted of a fishing tournament horse shoes washer tossing and crazy hat contest along with hot dogs and hamburgers for the noon meal The meeting was adjourned with a prayer at Felgers birthday would be May 19 City Council Report Jane Reinarz noted that the City Council Treasurer had reported in their account At Founders Day dinner each chapter would be given three to five minutes to introduce their woman of the year and the presidents report Anyone wishing to help with the set up and decorations should be at T Bar M at 2 on May 24 The honors will begin promptly at There are 93 reservations It was noted that Texas Iota Master would have three at large members who were previous chapter members in attendance Marie Jarish Elinor Wells and Lottie Kelm The election of officers were held The officers are President to be determined and will be a member of Preceptor Rho First vice president Karen Bunnet Zeta Iota second vice president Lisa Hooker Zeta Iota treasurer Amy Bridges Preceptor Lamda Pi recording secretary Christine Ikels Xi Alpa Eta corresponding secretary to be determined will be a member of Xi Pi Delta parliamentarian Ann Kleeman Iota Master The program was How to Handle Minor Emergencies Away from Home was presented by Elaine Campbell She brought a bag which held various items to provide help in the case of a clothing such as nail polish safety pins tape BandAids aspirin small clothes brush hair spray eyeglass screwdriver and tiny screws some Mad Money and other items Each member was presented with a purse sized sewing kit to take home After the program hostess Evelyn and her cohostess Verna Mae served a fruit salad lemonade and Chex mix The table was beautifully decorated with an embroidered table cloth and fresh garden flowers Cub Scouts The Sioux District Cub Scout Pinewood Derby was held at the New Braunfels Factory Stores on April 5 1997 We ran a double elimination race with categories for Tiger Cubs Wolves Bears Webelos and participants We also judged cars for best paint job best design and most unique design Winners in the Tiger Cubs for best paint were second place Kenneth Warnke P 106 and first place Barney Cruz P 106 Best design second place Barney Cruz P 106 Beta Sigma Phi The 62nd meeting of the Texas Iota Master Beta Sigma Phi was held at the home of Evelyn Schleuter The opening ritual was led by PresidentAnn Kleeman with all members present participating Roll Call was made with eight present and six absent Minutes of March meeting were read with the correction of the alternate city council representative to be Willie Mae Coffman rather than Jane Reinarz Communications from International A letter from John J Ross telling us that we have two members eligible to receive the Golden Circle Award Willie Mae Coffman and Dorothy Wegner Other Communications Announcement of the Volunteers Fest which had already a brochure from St Judes Ranch for Children telling about their activities and invitation for the McKenna Rehab Network Center groundbreaking which was held on April 18 reported that the chapter haff received only one name of a possible transferee Since the party lived in the Canyon Lake area she would pass the name onto City Council The treasurers report was read by Elaine Campbell in the absence of treasurer Sydonia Rompel Committee reports Program Dorothy Wegner reported that the May meeting will be held at Janes home with the program being the installation of new officers The meeting will start at and will be a salad supper with each attendee to bring a salad Social Team II party invitations were passed out It was held April 27 at Treetops Guests were welcome Elaine cochairman reported she would check with Willie Mae chairman and then proceed with the arrangements if Willie Maes husbands illness would prevent her participation Evelyn Schlueter and Vivian Hildebrand complete the committee Service Verna Mae Dean passed around a picture of some of the children at the Center receiving the video tapes which the chapter had donated Publicity Gladys Smith reported the March meeting write up was in the local paper Courtesy In the absence of the chairman Ann reported Janes birthday had been April 9 Willie Maes
