is just as soon as we all leam how to get into the system Reed Helmly of CompuVision donated the computer installed it and even offered help to teach us how to use it What would we do without people like Reed and hes a newcomer to New Braunfels Another newcomer Lee Thomas is working hard for the Center and is planning that super seminar April 7 to describe and explain the ways a person can give to charitable organizations avoid capital gains taxes establish flexible income and create corporate tax deductions all while providing community goodwill and the satisfaction Of the use social Greater New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce Leadership New Braunfels project kicked off in October and monthly sessions will continue through May This Chamber project was designed to identify and bring together men and women of New Braunfels who seek the opportunity to expand their involvement in community affairs and are willing to assume leadership positions Jack Farris Jack Farris is senior vice president of Lending at Texas Commerce Bank He received his bachelor of arts from Georgia State University and is a graduate of Southwest School of Banking at Southern Methodist University Farris and his wife Judy have two children Gary and Lindsay In his spare time he enjoys cycling and golf He is active in the Nathan MHwtt e said he hoped to learn a more comprehensive understanding of the entire community and the interrelation of government schools Chamber of Commerce and the current and future leaders of New Braunfels Nathan Millett Nathan Millett is a teacher in the Austin Independent School District He received his BS Ed and from Southwest Texas State University and Doctorate degree from the University of Texas at Austin Millett is unmarried He enjoys basketball swimming reading and singing Nathan is active in the Hispanic Organization for P u b 1 i c Education Board of Directors for the Greater Hispanic Chamber President of the Black Heritage Society ofcomal County Dittlinger Library Board Texas Music Education Association and Austin Federation of Teachers When asked how he thought the Leadership New Braunfels would benefit him most he saidMiat he expected to develop strong leadership skills through speaking listening and communicating effectively with others He also hopes to learn strategies for resolving interpersonal conflicts and help make individuals more effective in communicating with others i Richard Seibert i Rick Seibert is a vice president at Norwest Bank He attended the University of Texas at Rick and his wife Diana have two children Misti and Kristina He bowling golf gardening and UT sports Rick is a member of the Wurstfest Association Eden Heights Inc Board and the Freiheit fowling Club v Seibert said that he wanted to participate in constituent services from to 11 No appointment is necessary Sophienburg Museum celebrates anniversaries Linden Anderson honored as Decent of the Year The Sophienburg Museum and Archives celebrated many of its anniversaries March 12 at the annual Membership Meeting This year the meeting was transformed into a dinner party with awards and door prizes Museum Docent of the Year was named Linden Anderson was surprised when Director Michelle Oatman read a description of her and all of the wonderful volunteer hours she had given not only to the Sophienburg but the entire community Iris Schumann Archives chairman introduced the Archives Volunteer of the Year Mary Adel and Howard Schneider were honored as a couple who have gone beyond the call of duty to help identify more than negatives of
