of Rahe Primary School second grade students was given the opportunity to develop their creative skills by using the minds while learning various aspects about design Sabrina Adam Rahe Primary gifted and talented teacher wrote a series of classroom lessons designed to teach students about design Students were challenged to de velop a knowledge of design ele ments team to recognize those ele ments in an an project and to develop an appreciation for both artistic ex pression and craftsmanship in Adam said Betty Adams an artist from San Antonio was invited to provide stu dents with insight from a professional with years of experience She brought several of her clay sculptures to show students how angles and curves could be used in the design process then gave each stu dent a piece of clay I want you to keep your eyes closed and use your mind to create a sculpture out of the Adams told the students CISD photo by Don Rahe Primary School second grade students Erica Ingram L and Beth Niles R let their imagination and creativity form a day sculpture under the guidance of San Antonio artist Betty Adams Adams visited ttre class to talk about designing and creating art objects Student learning included Ian lary words that went with the Ics guage arts skills as well as art and design according to the Rahe Pri mary School teacher Students were taught vocabu sons and wrote questions
