JOHN MOLER photographer Special to the HeraldZeitung I knew that we could get a perfect score last week We had a great response to both pictures AA96085 is a true local hero Raymond Froelich was the first Comal County resident to be killed in World War II He was stationed on the USS Houston which went down in Pearl Harbor We have a wonderful collection of his records at the Archives now his photo that was identified can be placed there as well Thank you to Vivian Hildebrand Audrey Jonas Dean Marcus Wenzel Richard Ohm Mike Pinemann Julia Soefge and Jaylene Siebert Our smiling lady is Clara Bartels Think back she was an elementary school teacher This photo was taken sometime in the late 1920s or early 1930s We thank Dorothy Schubert and two of our professional identifiers Mary Adel and Howard Schneider With the World Series here I thought we needed a local baseball photo in the column I found a good one and it doesnt have a name on it All we know about AA96087 is that it was taken on June and the name of the team is the Cardinals Lets rally together and see whether1 we can put names on each team member including that adorable bat boy V What a cute group of Girl Scouts AA96088 is a local 1947 troop Mairs set to lake baton in role as music director of MidTexas Symphony Sundays MidTexas Symphony concert at 4 in the Civic Center will mark the debut of David Mairs as music director of the MidTexas Symphony i Mairs will be at the baton as the symphony opens its 19th season with a concert featuring four of the symphonys own players Frank and Bobbye Streightoff residents of New Braunfels and strong supporters of the arts in the community will sponsor this concert Streightoff serves the MidTexas Symphony as vice president of bylaws He has sponsored MidTexas Symphony concerts each year for the past several years Mairs is also resident conductor of the San Antonio Symphony He conducted the MidTexas Symphonys holiday concert in Jackson Auditorium last December The concert will feature Robert Cannon and Andrew Gignac in Vivaldis Concerto for Two Trumpets P 75 C Harpist Shana Norton and flutist Adrienne Inglis will be featured in Mozarts Concerto for Flute and Harp The orchestra will also perform Tchaikowskys Symphony No 4 F Cannon is the principal trumpet for the MidTexas Symphony while Gignac is second trumpet Norton regularly performs with the MidTexas Symphony and Inglis is the principal flutist for the Mid Texas Symphony Tickets for the concert are for adults for senior citizens and college students and for other students They will be available at the door the day of the concert Season tickets will also be available at the door The season ticket package includes tickets for a special concert Nov 17 marking the 10th anniversary of the opening of Jackson Auditorium on the campus of Texas Lutheran University The concert will feature world renowned pianist Barry Douglas with Akira Endo conducting For more information call 0336 Submitted by the
