terrorist attack earlier thig were jotted ftom their by a bomb threat that turned out to beahow We had a bomb threat It was a phone call We went on alert for about an hour and 45 Senior Air man Paul Oritton said Then we found everything to be He said Air Force personnel and allied British and French troops bunking in the compound were put on alert after the anonymous caller claimed there would be another explo sicfri at the base where a truck bombing Tuesday night killed 19 people all of them Americans The remains of the 19 Americans Were flown Thursday to Dover Air Force Base in Delaware to be honored at a private ceremony with a 21gun salute The United States says 270 Ameri cans were injured in the blast Saudi Arabia says more than 200 Saudi Ara bian and Bangladeshi citizens were also injured Meanwhile two Air Force transport planes arrived in southwest Germany today with 43 Air Force per bums ard broken bones from Tuesdays blast said Army Maj Bruce Shearer They were taken to the last decade has brought about what University of Southern California law professor Erwin Chemerinsky calls a conservative revolution in constitutional Dole backs a way form comment on tobacco WASHINGTON AP Hoping to make the tobacco issue go away Bob Dole told one of his sharpest crit ics that hes no medical expert when he declaresthat smoking is not nec essarily addictive But dole still insists that from his personal observations tobacco may i or may trot be v a Thats what got Dole in trouble With Dr C Everett Kpop who served as surgeon general under President Reagan Koop said Doles remarks either exposed his abysmal lack of knowl edge of nicotine addiction or his blind support of the tobacco In a letter to Koop dated Thursday Eades put up a sign in his waiting warning his
