parishes in and around New Braunfels He will be speaking to the teenagers and young adults June 9 at the Holy Family Hall Foppe learned at an early age that our only real handicaps are those men tal and emotional ones that prevent us from participating fully in The fourth of eight sons John was bom without arms John is an enthusiastic young man with a message for all to hear He began speaking when he was 16 years old in response to an emerging need for speakers who could address todays youth Since that time John has devel oped into a professional speaker addressing thousands of people from all walks of life After graduating from St Louis Uni versity with a degree in communication in 1992 Foppe was personally invited by internationally known motivational i speaker and author Zig Ziglar to join his prestigious Speakers Bureau Foppe is the spealcerever hired by the Zig Ziglar Corporation and was personally trained by Ziglar as his first Foppe was recognized as one of The Ten Outstanding Young Ameri cans in 1993 by the Junior Chamber of Commerce Recently he became the host for Americas Teen age Video The video series is distributed to high schools through out the and Canada it was designed to promote classroom dis cussions on a variety of critical issues facing todays young people Those who met Foppe are moved by his qualities of hope patience and perseverance His presentations are real and direct addressing areas of concern for everyone The June 9 event is open to all high school students and young adults The admission is which will cover the events for the day Foppe will speak at 2 followed by mass in the church dinner and a D J dance on the grounds and in the hall Although this is a Catholic sponsored event all teenagers are invited and encouraged to
