New Braunfels Assembly is honored to announce the appointment of Audestia Patton of Lockhart as Grand Religion for the Grand Assembly of Texas. Audestia joined Rainbow in 1989 and has been a very faithful and active member. We know that she will fulfill her obligations to the Grand Assembly beautifully. She announced that the 70th Anniversary Celebration for Texas Extension Clubs will be held on Tuesday, June 4, at the San Antonio Garden Center, 3310 New Braunfels St in San Antonio.'Registration is from 9 to IO a.m. Cost is $2. Bring a lunch in a decorated box. Boxes will be judged for their creativity. The next council meeting is scheduled for July 26 at 9:30 a.m. Club members are invited to attend. Members voted to go to Pat’s Place for lunch as their July activity. Mary Ann Hack is to attend leader training meeting on "Information My Family Needs to Know” on June 21 at IO am Martha Ellis, program assistant for Family and Consumer Sciences, will provide the information. Velma Patterson won the attendance prize and Colene Cooper won the game prize. The next meeting will be June 12. Jennie Lee Wimberley will be hostess. Sarah Pierson, treasurer, submitted reports to date. The audit report done by Ginny Daniel, chairman of Audit Commitlee, was submitted and records were found to be correct Chairmen for various committees were solicited and those slots were filled for the year. These consisted of chairmen for HistoriaivArchives, Publicity, Parliamentarian, Yearbook, 4-H and Social. Charlotte Merged, comity TAFCE chairman, reported on foe District IO spring meeting of the Texas Association for Family and Community Education which was held in Fredericksburg. Subjects presented were: Family Choice TV, membership drive, and International Prospective on Changing Households. An interesting “style show” took place during lunch. The meeting being in that part of foe country, everything was peaches, and we loved it Pat Rasor announced foe Celebration for the 70th Anniversary of Texas Extension Clubs will be Tuesday, June 4, at the San Antonio Garden Center. It will depict the history of Extension Dubs for the past 70 years. The Comal County FCE Council's spring tour would take place at the Institute for Texan Cultures on May 17 in San Antonio. Those going would meet at the extension office at 9 am and car pool. We were sad to hear that Joe Taylor, county extension agent, has had a serious medical problem, but is now doing much better. We wish him full recovery soon. Pat Rasor reported the extension agents’ activities have been very varied since our councfl meeting in January. A few listed are: stress management, parenting skills, nutrition, germs and sanitation, money management, parliamentary procedure, food safety, conflict management, olestra, marbling and many more in order to reach the population in Comal County. The next FCE Council meeting will be July 26,1996.
