winning run as Hays held on for a 2 1 victory at Cougar Field on Tuesday night Needing a win to stay within a game of the lead the Cougars must now focus on the runner up spot The Cougars are still in ritual for three New Braunfels Unicorns For Canyon High School senior Kevin Har grove however its a oncein a lifetime oppor tunity I1 ve been looking forward to getting to this point all said will be making the first trip for Canyon to the state tournament in Austin on May 67 Hargrove defeated Tri Phan of Tuloso Mid way 63 75 on Tuesday in the finals of the Class 4A Region IV Tennis Tournament at McFarlin Tennis Center New Braunfels sophomore Rebekah Forney the tournaments top seed captured the girls regional title for the second straight year She had no problem defeating Shere Ewing of Tuloso Midway Fomey who is ranked No 3 in Texas in Superchampionship 18 by the United State Tennis Association reached the state finals in singles last year Im excited about getting back and trying to make it one step Fomey said I feel confident about my game and I feel Im playing with a little more In the girls doubles final Tamarra Jenkin and Andrea Giesick topped Catherine Olsen and Lindsey Callum of
