mourned the oneyear anniversary of her shooting death at a Corpus Christi motel Selena Quintanilla Perez was gunned down by her former fan club president on March 31 The lawsuit accuses Seaside Memorial Park and Funeral Home in Corpus Christi of misman aging the arrangements and exploiting her death The family alleges that an employee pho tographed Selenas body and sold copies which family rammed a freighter that was docked in the Brownsville Ship Channel state officials say Between 500 and 700 barrels of marine diesel spilled into the channel but within three hours of the accident at 3 Monday oil spill crews had contained a area of fuel The diesel was confined to the ship channel and a spokesman with the General Land Office says its unlikely the spill will spread to the Gulf of Furst pre ceded her in death on Sept 17 1970 She resided in New Braunfels since 1985 after retiring as a head nurse at Holy Family Hospital in Des Plaines 111 Mrs Furst was a graduate of St Fran cis School of Nursing in Peoria in 1940 She met her husband while work ing as an RN at the Caterpillar Tractor Co in Peoria She was a homemaker and a member of the Sts Peter and Paul Catholic Church She was also a member of the Ladies Eagles Auxiliary and the Ladies Landa Golf Association Survivors include a daughter Terry Garvens and her husband Gary of New Braunfels two sons James Furst and his wife Sandra of Lake Zurich and David Furst and his wife Donna of Crystal Lake and six granddaugh ters Tiffany Furst Kimberly Furst Kelly Furst Kaitlyn Furst Whitney Garvens and Tracey Garvens The
