HeraldZeitung who was arrested in connection with three casino rob beries in Us Vegas is also a sus pect in two bank robberies in the Dallas area a Dallas newspaper reported last week Michael David Condiff 29 was arrested at a North Richland Hills Red Lobster restaurant Hes been charged with seven counts of rob bery and burglary in connection with the Las Vegas holdups Officials were also considering charging Condiff last week in con nection with bank robberies in Hurst and Irving He was being held in Hurst city jail last week Condiff s alleged string of rob beries came to an end after a video tape of one of the Las Vegas holdups was shown on the televi sion show Americas Most Want Several viewers fingered Con diff for the crimes and cafled police in the Dallas area Condiff has told investigators he committed the robberies to feed his gambling addiction He also said he gambled to help pay for his fathers medical expenses Condiff worked for the HZ for several months in 1994 Before his stint in New Braunfels he worked as a sports writer in the Dallas area with his work often appearing in the Dallas Morning News Tannehill in Guadalupe Sheriffs race Tom TannehiH a 27year law lar on Patrol a citizen crime prevention program and SAFFE San Antonio FearFree a community policing project Tannehill holds a masters and instructors certificate the two highest professional citations awarded to a law enforcement officer by the Texas Com mission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education He is a graduate of Southwest Texas State University and the FBI National Academy and is a courtcertified expert in police procedure and crime analysis The sheriffs office is a business which provides a pre vention and thats what its all says Tannehill We serve at the pleasure of our communi ty and it is our job to assist in securing their safety and their property Its a relative straightforward mandate on the party of people They simply want us to protect and keep with federal Harvey Faulkner Constable of Precinct 4 announced his filing for the Republican Primary for the office of Sheriff of Guadalupe County Constable Faulkner has been involved in law enforcement since 1983 He began his law enforcement career with the Mari on Police Department serving that department for two years He then worked with the Bexar County Con stables Office Precinct 4 as a member of its special operations unit This unit specialized in highrisk activ ities to include drug interdiction and antigang activities Mr Faulkner was elected Constable Guadalupe County
