Several local restaurants already have committed to the event, including the Huisache Grill and Granzin’s Barbecue and almost a dozen more have plans to attend. The Taste of the Town is the museum’s biggest annual event, with proceeds going to keep the region’s oldest children’s museum going and growing for another year. Restaurants and caterers interested in taking part in Taste of the Town, and there is no cost for participants this year - can call the museum at 629-0939. A fishing trail along the Guadalupe River, a handicapped accessible trail to the trout fishing area and an artificial wetland with viewing platforms will all be constructed during the morning by volunteers. After the work is finished in the morning, a free lunch will be provided to volunteers and music and entertainment will follow in the afternoon. Free T-shirts and other gifts will be provided. Sponsors will be recognized at this event. Both small and large donations are welcome. This is a great service project for school groups or clubs. Family groups could also enjoy die day.
