Zocllcr Funeral Home for Martha Skelton of New Braunfels who died Tuesday night Aug 1 at McKenna Memori Hurricane Erin hits Florida downgraded to tropical storm Myra L Potter jlvtrs Myra L Potter 91 of the Eden Hoffit passed away July She has been a resident of Eden Home for tne past 11 years Mis Potter was born in Ohio and as a long life resident of Cleveland C was very active in the local N Church Gideons and the C rjlerof the Eastern Star continued to be very active afihbtrgh she had retired and resided in FL She was preceded in deafti by her husband William E Pot ter She is survived by two nephews Bart and his wife Ann Bartholomew of New Braunfels and Dr Ray and his wife Rosemary Bartholomew of Cedarville Ohio Memorial services will be held Fri day in Cleveland Ohio Memorials to the Eden Home Doepenschmidt Funeral Home V Luella Huffman Brown Lniella Huffman Brown of McCjueeney died Monday July 31 1995 at the age of 79 Memorial ser vices will be held at 6 Wednesday atthe First Methodist Church of Born Nov 1 1915 in Can she moved to Texas in 1946 and to Seguin in 1961 She was instrumental in helping to build the Guadalupe Valley Hospital which in 1965 and continued as its administrator until her retirement in remained a lifetime member Auxiliary Mrs Brown member of the First United Methodist Church and served on its Education committee and as president ofjthe Foundation board She is preceded in death by Shirley Wood Brown whom she married in l973 Survivors include a son Dr rGary H Huffman and wife Gladys of Seguin a daughter Marinnette IMbwrey of New Orleans two grand idaughters Heather Huffman and jMLiss Haas a new grandson Trevor jHaas a sister Mabel Alter and hus jband Ralph of Scottsdale a j brother Carl Huston and wife Esther of Gregory and nieces and nephews j was devoted to her family and took great pride in her children and grandchildren Pallbearers will be Al Bacon John Ginter Ancil Hopp Bob Jordan Leroy Linnartz Matthies and Jon Nelson Sr The family suggests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Guadalupe Valley Hospital or the First United Methodist Church VERO BEACH Fla AP Hard ly the pugilist Andrew was Hurricane Erin picked a fight with coastal central Florida early today then backed off as it butted up against land Before dawn broke Erin had become a tropi cal storm Four hours after blasting its way into this resort city with 100 mph wind gusts the National Hurricane Center said Erins sustained winds had slowed to 70 mph near Kissimee at 5 The minimum wind to be classified as a hurricane is
