Citizens from Canyon High School were Sabrina McDonald Kristlna Guillen Eljzabeth Weisman and Samantha Austin Also pictured is Koryn Wunderlich center front of Smithson Valley High School They attended the Girls State at Texasn Lutheran College campus In Seguln from June 13 to June 23 Boys State citizen Mlcah Harper of Smithson V alley High School attended the Boys State session June 3 to June 10 at the University of Texas In Austin Not pictured but also attending was Bryan Morales Obituaries GUT BOOKS WALNUT 6 62964OO IH 35 and Walnut Ave Olivia M Villela Olivia M Villela age 82 of New Braunfels died Monday June 26 1995 at McKenna Memorial Hospital She was born May 25 1913 in Leon Gua najuato Mexico to Marcos Mena and Maria Gutierrez Mena She married Geronimo Villela Sr on June 25 1927 in New Braunfels Mrs Villela had been an active member of the Guadalupana Society and a member of the Cursillo Move ment at Holy Family Catholic Church She was a dedicated volunteer with the church and spent countless hours participating in fundraisers for Holy Family She was known throughout the city for hosting posadas at her home and at other peoples homes dur ing the Christmas season She will be remembered as a devoted Catholic who worked hard to help build the First Holy Family Catholic Church building Survivors are daughter and sonin law Natalia and Jesse Gomez of New Braunfels sons and daughterinlaw Geronimo and Elvia Villela Jr of Sel ma and Amulfo Villela of New fels 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren plus numerous nieces and nephews A Rosary will be recited Wednesday at 7 at the Zoeller Funeral Home Chapel A funeral mass is scheduled for Thursday June 29 at 10 at the holy Family Catholic Church with Msgr Edward Bily officiating Inter ment to follow in the Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery Her body will lie in state at the funer al home until Thursday when the procession departs the funeral home chapel Regina Josephine Knust Kuretsch Regina Josephine Knust Kuretsch of New Braunfels passed away at Eden Home on Monday June 26 1995 at the age of 89 years She was born on April 8 1909 in Womack Bosque Texas to Joseph and Ottilie Wenzel Knust In the early 1920s she attended Robinson Academy in Robinson and continued her studies at Clifton College and Southwest Texas State University San Marcos She was baptized at Evangel ical Zion Kirche Womack Texas on July 23 1906 and confirmed at Evan gelischen Zoar Church Rowena Texas on March 20 1921 On June she was married to Richard F Kuretsch at Zion Evangelical Church in Worn N Seaum St Jacobsen and his wife Dar lene Arthur Jacobsen and his wife Toni Erich Strey and his wife Edna Regina Higgs and her husband Joseph 10 greatgrandchildren sisterinlaw Alvina Mcisch of Dallas Texas numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends Funeral services will be held Thurs day June 29 1995 at 2 at First Protestant United Church of Christ in New Braunfels with the Rev Daryl Higgins and the Rev Richard Carse officiating Interment will follow at St Paul United Church of Christ Cemetery in Cibolo Texas Visitation will con tinue until 12 noon on Thursday with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 on Wednesday evening at Doep penschmidt Funeral Home Pallbearers will be Richard and Arthur Jacobsen Erich Strey Regina Higgs Wayne Lessmann and David Dahl
