The event, Sisters in Suffrage - 75 Year Cele-ration of the Vote,” will include a arade, picnic supper and a few sunrises. Lunch includes broccoli chicken, a green salad, rolls and assorted desserts, served from 11 a.m. to I p.m. The Cottage Kitchen is located in die Charles S. Cock House Museum at 400 E. Hopkins St. in San Marcos. Proceeds will benefit the Heritage Association. Reservations not required. Flag raising Bob Quent, commander of VFW Post #71 IO, invites the public to the flag raising at the Post Home, 600 We’re Meeting The Comal County Genealogy Society will not have a meeting in July The next meeting will be Aug. 1 at the North Building. The New Braunfels Polio Survivors Support Group will have its next meeting at IO a.m., Saturday, July 1 at the Comal County Senior Citizens Center. Several polio survivors in the New Braunfels area have formed this new support group for polio survivors who are suffenng the debilitating late effects of polio. The New Braunfels Optimist Club will not meet Monday, July 3 due to the holiday weekend. The next meeting wi be held at Molly Joe’s Restaurant at 6:30 p.m. on July 17. American Legion Comal Post #179 meets Thursday, July 6 at 410 W. Coll St. The executive committee meets at 7 p.m., and the regular meeting begins at 8 p.m. Unit #179 auxiliary holds its meeting at 7:30 p.m. Because of the Fourth of July being on the first Tuesday of the month, the regular meeting of the Comal County Texas Constitutional Militia will be held on the second Tuesday, July 11, at 7 p.m. at GVTC, on FM 3159 just off of Highway 46. A new commander and a secretary-treasurer will be elected. Public invited. The New Braunfels Kiwanis Club meets every Thursday at noon at Victoria Bank and Trust, 1000 N. Walnut. Guests are welcome. New Braunfels Area Car Club meets the last Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the Victoria Bank and Trust Annex building. The Fourth in Bulverde Celebrate July 4 at the Bulverde Community Center from noon to 6 p.m. Barbecue chicken, $4.50 for adults, $3 for children; country store; bake sale, prize raffle; antique farm equipment and auto show; attendance prizes; games and more. Barbecue fund-raiser American Legion Post #179 will be hosting its annual barbecue fund-raiser July 4 from noon to 4 p.. at the Post Home, located at 410 W. Coll St. The menu will include brisket and sausage with choice of two side dishes, bread, pickles and onions, coffee or tea. Advance tickets on sale for $4 for adults and $2 for children 12 and under. Advance tickets may be purchased at the Post Home or from your local Legionnaire. Randolph fireworks A spectacular fireworks display will highlight Randolph’s Fourth of July celebration, which is open to the public. Gates open at IO a.m. and festivities include a carnival, bands, games and more. The Re-Max Sky Diving Team will open the festivities. Admission is free and visitors are asked to enter through the west gate. July 4 celebration The Sophienburg Museum and Archives will sponsor the Annual Fourth of July Celebration on the Plaza Tuesday, July 4. Refreshments will be served at the Sophienburg at 9 a.m. Shortly before IO a.m., antique cars and people carrying the American Flag will parade to the Plaza. Everyone is asked to join the parade to the Plaza waving the American Flag. Don Ferguson will begin the program on the Plaza at IO a.m. and the program lasts about one hour. Mary Beth Smith will render the National Anthem and other patriotic songs. HOPE Workshop Hispanic Organization for Public Education will hold a workshop with guest speaker Carol Robison, chief of the Juvenile Probation for the county Topic will be the Public Schools Reform Act of 1995.
