New Braunfels residents walked through the streets of New Braunfels to raise money for healthier babies A total of was raised in our com munity for the fight against defects The team receiving an award for raising the most money was the Guadalupe Valley Telephone Coop erative with a total of The team receiving the award for the most walkers was NBHS Marine Corps Jr ROTC with a total of 18 walkers The individual raising the most money with a total of for the third year in a row was WalkAmerica committee member Laurie Oberkampf A big thank you goes to County Judge Carter Castcel for serving as the March of Dimes WalkAmerica Honorary Chairperson who partici pated in the mile walk Thanks also to Dean Taylor from for his help in a live interview the morning of the event and to pho tographer Michael Darnall from the New Braunfels HeraldZeitung who was on hand to take some photos at the start of the walk A big thank you to Jim Wesolick and Diane Grohman who provided wonderful singing before the event and who also sang God Bless the and to Boy Scout Troop for carrying the flags and reciting the Pledge of Alliances Thanks also to Chris Hilde brand with High Voltage Mobile DJ for providing music during and after the walk and the Shriner clowns for their entertainment for the children and the big kids at heart A big thank you to Robert Konkel from Molly Joes Catering for the Arboretum She was born Dec in Tarentum Pennsylvania to Alan Burton Chapman and Ruth Craw ford Chapman She married Fred Hen son Aug 7 1941 in Orlando Florida She was a New Braunfels resident for 24 years She worked with Southwestern Bell and the American Legion Ladies Aux iliary She was a member of the New Braunfels Christian Church Survivors arc her husband Fred Henson of New Braunfels sister Patri cia Fuller of New Braunfels and a brother Crawford Chapman of Con verse plus numerous nieces and nephews Funeral services are Thursday April 13 at at the ZoellerFaneral Home Chapel with Rev Rick Bartlett officiating Interment to follow in the Fort Sam Houston NationalCemetery in San Antonio Pallbearers will be Buddy Sonny Chapman Jimmy Albert Rendez Dan Dean and Gaston Par sons Memorials may
