sponsored by the Greater New Braunfels Chamber of Com merce will feature some of the most influential leaders in the state accord ing to Allan Shivers Ghair of the Conference Advisory Committee The Conference is scheduled for Thursday and Friday March 23 arid 24 in the New Braunfels Civic Center Governor George W Bush Lieu tenant Governor Bob Bullock Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison and 6 influential committee chairs from the Texas Legislature are programpartic ttpants at this years Conference Co vSponsors for this year are Bank of America Texas Guadalupe Valley Telephone Coop PacifiCare in the Southwest and Southwestern Bell Telephone On Thursday evening March 23 Lieutenant Governor Bob Bullock will presented the Texan of the Year r Award by former Lieutenant Governor I William P Hobby I On Friday morning March 24 the Conference will be dedicated to John 1 A Traeger former State Senator and a former recipient of the Texan of the Year Award State Representative Edmund Kuempel and Arrangements Committee Chair Bennie Bock II will 1 give dedicatory remarks honoring Traeger for his service to the state in I the field of Public Affairs and his par ticipation in the Legislative Confer 1 ence from its beginning The keynote address on Friday morning will be given by Governor Bush and senator Hutchison will be the principal speaker at the noon lunv cheon Following a legislative panel will address Hot Potatoes in the Legislative Issues ses sion Speakers on the panel are State I ators Kenneth Barrientos and David Sibley State Representatives serving on the panel
