Cal Laura at 626-9144 tor mort information The Special Interests in Austin want to tie your hands. Right now, the Texas legislature is cracking down on those who file frivolous lawsuits — That's good. Insurance companies and other Special Interests, however, are using this opportunity to tack on provisions that protect their companies by taking away important rights our families count on — very bad. No one opposes harsh sanctions for those who file frivolous lawsuits. But most of the proposals called "reforms" by Special Interests and their professional lobbyists could actually strip away rights Texans need to hold insurance companies, criminals, toxic polluters and others responsible for injuries to our families. What's more, lawyers, stock brokers, accountants, real-estate brokers and other professionals could be exempted from Texas' Deceptive Trade Practices Act — all in the name of "reform!"Don’t let them take away your rights! Call your state legislators today, and tell them not to sign away your rights in their rush to pass lawsuit reform.Sen. Jeff Wentworth 826-7800 Rep.
