New Braunfels Herald Zeitung (Newspaper) - January 22, 1995, New Braunfels, Texas 10 A ■ Herald-Zeitung ■ Sunday, Jan. 22, 1995 Sports DayFishing lure and trailer device among best new products Keith Warren With boat show season upon us, it is time to see what’s new for 1995. Fishing tackle, boat and motor dealers and many others exhibit each year to show off their products to the consumer. This is a great opportunity to get a quick education for manufacturers of these products. I've just returned from a show in Dallas where a couple of items caught my attention. The Trailer Boot, manufactured by Boulder Products of Arlington is a locking device for trailer wheels to prevent theft. It appears to be similar to The Club, which is used on automobile steering wheels to prevent the wheel from turning. The Trailer Boot is adjustable and will fit any size trailer wheel and retails for under $100. Boulder Products phone number is 817-640-7050. Another new item is the HullSavr, which is a portable ramp for the bow of a boat. About the size of a brief case, this item unfolds to rest on the ground, allowing the bow of a boat to rest on a carpeted support rather than the bottom. It will save the bottom of your boat, says the manufacturer, A&B Manufacturing Co., phone number 1-800-305-0342. I didn’t see any new lures that caught my eye, but without a, doubt, the hottest big bass lure on the market right now is the AC Plug by Arbogast. On Lake Fork alone, over 30 bass over IO pounds have fallen victim to this lure in the first 2 weeks of January. Reports from AC Pluggers on Rayburn, Toledo Bend, Choke Canyon, and Falcon are almost as impressive. For more information on the AC Plug, contact Fred Arbogast Lure Co., at 214-424-5585 or check with your local tackle dealer. (Keith Warren is the host of The Texas Angler television show which broadcasts state-wide. Catch The Texas Angler on Sunday mornings at 11:30 and Friday mornings at 10:30 on HSE.) Bowling! Amy Brown added ll and Andrea Kennedy had nine The Lady Lions' lop scorer, Edwina Brown had 22 points in the first half but was limited to only IO in the second as Rangerette Dusti Daniel applied tough defensive pressure We went lo box-in-one and Dusti really frustrated Edwina," Ckodre said. The win puts Rangerettes dislnct record at 3-2 and keeps them in the hunt for a playoff spot The team is IO-11 overall They have a tough race ahead as they next face Bastrop (4-0) on the road Tuesday night "I think we're still alive in district and have a shot at it if we play hard," Ckodre said " The key for us is lo cut down on turnovers If we can do that, I feel we can he there at the end.
