Submissions must be of paper origin, i.e.... photographs, letters, documents. Submissions must either fit in a 9x12 or #10 envelope. Costs for submitting envelopes for inclusion in the time capsule are SIO and $5 respectively. Deadline is Sept 1,1995. Submissions and payments can be made at the Greater Nbw Braunfels Chamber of Commerce office, 390 S. Seguin. The capsule will be buried at the Civic Center for 50 years. Comal County Habitat for Humanity plans to build a second home next year, lf you are interested in buying the home, information sheets will be available starting Jan. 2 at the Dit-dinger Memorial Library, or by mailing a self-addressed envelope with two stamps to Application Requests, Comal County Habitat For Humanity, P.O. Trtt recycling The city of New Braunfels and New Braunfels Utilities will sponsor foe 8th annual Christmas Tree Recycling Program in Landa Park beginning Dec. 26. An area in the swimming pod parking lot will be designated as the site to receive the trees. About 1,491 trees were converted into mulch last Christmas. Please remove nails and other metal fasteners from the tree’s trunk to protect the employees and the chippers used to mulch the trees. , The Parks Department used the fnulch to promote water conservation practices in caring for the many trees and landscape (fouls in city parks. The mulch is also available free to residents. IRS wants you VITA, the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program sponsored by the IRS, offers flee help prepving basic tax returns (1040s, 1040EZs and simple 1040s). Last year VITA helped mote than 18,000 people in San Arsono and surrounding areas. They arc looking for volunteers who enjoy helping people and working with them to make a difficult task easier.
