Kan Vradanburg School was well represented at the National Youth Leadership Forum of Security and Defense In Wash ington Greg Oitcho a junior at CHS along with 270 other delegates around the nation had the opportunity to learn about our governments secu rity and defense systems The dele gates participated in a simulated nuclear crisis between North Korea and South Korea Each delegate was appointed to a certain position Greg was appointed as the Secretary of Defense of the United States Along with the simulated nuclear crisis the delegates visited numerous Capitol Hill Speaker such as General Kaig and Admiral Crowe described the many responsibilities of the military and told the delegates a brief history of their climb to the top Greg summed up his trip by saying It was an awesome opportunity to learn about the details of our government I wish everyone had the chance to experience what I Congratulations to the Aristocats Dance Team The dance team walked away from the Heart of Texas Classic Competition in Temple Texas with five different awards this past weekend They received judges awards for their pom and jazz routines The Arlst cats also came away with an award for the best overall presentation The dance team also received the Qusssie Nell Davis award It is a special award given to a dance team that receives a 90 earned a superior rating trophy for their outstanding perfor mances The Arlstocatf would like io thank everyone for their hard work and support throughout the training for the competition Last week on Feb 11 Mr Thomp sons World Geography Hononaagi took a rteld trip to the SWTSU library and LCR Lecture Auditorium The stu dents attended a class taught by Dr Byron Augustine and conducted actu al research for a college level term paper This trip not only allowed the students to use the University facilities but it gave then an opportunity to experience college level courses and requirements This was the second trip for the honors geography class Earlier this year they made a geolog ical study of Enchanted Rock near Fredericksburg CAVALCADE OF HARMONY Barbershop quartets concert to raise money for handicapped children The 20th Annual Cavalcade
