JENNIFER RUST Special to the HeraldjZeitung Next year students at New Braunfels High School will be affected in many ways because of the change in the Block Scheduling will benefit stu dents and it will enable students to ineet their oeditsand follow the college bound program in Older fof more stu dents to meet this need the program was restructured With this schedule there Will be almost a year and a half more classes enabling students to take more classes This schedule will be most beneficial to students Instead of students taking six classes and having six different teachers will only have four es and only have to adjust to four dif ferent teachers Hieife will be mdre depth study with the classes being 90 minutes long Homework for students maybe reduced with having only four classes With 90 minute long classes student will be able to take field trips and take part in other handson expe riences Student stress will be said NBHS Principal John Turman there are a lot of opinions about the block scheduling from students Heres what some of the students are saying Academically this program will offer exceptional room for intelligence to grow said junior Amy Grunwald This schedule allows students to take rrtore elect ves and they hive more of a variety of classes It also relieves the stress of having to keep up with six classes at one time I know I defi nitely am looking forward to this new diftflgeY Said junior Julie Taylor Students will only have to worry about four classes a day therefore mak ing school less stressful The schedul ing provides eight classes a year which will give students a chance to take more classes and gain more knowl edge making them better prepared for said junior ftobyn Hugghins This will give us the extra time and energy to place pUr concentration on these four classes learn more and therefore further our said junior Clara Walden accelerated block schedule will be beneficial to the academically focused students of New Braunfels High School It will allow those stu dents who want to exceed at the chance to fake more college bound courses The schedule also sounds to be less strenuous than the present said junior Caleb
