The seniors Center and the SOS Food Bank assisted In the distribution by providing drivers. The fruit was given out a nursing homes, the Community Service Center, the food bank and several churches. Schlitterbahn offers season passes for Christmas Work on new motel starts today Pat Patel of Alice, Texas and Ken Patel of Robstown, Texas announced ground breaking for a new motel for New Braunfels. They will construct a Days Inn Motel on the access road to 1-3 5 between MOP and Holiday Inn. The new motel will have 60 rooms of which four will be suites. The motel will also include meeting rooms and a swimming pool with spa. “There has not been a major expansion in the hotel industry since 1986," stated Jim Scheele, Jr. director of the Convention and Visitors Bureau with the New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce. “The expansion will add additional rooms during the summer months and create another meeting and conference facility which will be beneficial year ‘round," Scheele said. The facility will be about 32,500 square feet and is scheduled to be open in June of 1994. Ground breaking ceremonies will be held on the site at 3:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 17. Obituaries Ralph H. Posted Ralph H. Postell, of Canyon Lake, died Thursday, Dec. 16, 1993 at McKenna Memorial Hospital at the age of 73 years. He was bom Od 7,1920 in Cancan, Texas to Ike Fred and Laura Ethel [Cox] Postell. He married Leo R. Wood May 5,1946 in Hermitage, Aik. Postell lived at Canyon Lake since 1973. He was Civil Service employee who belonged to First Baptist Church of Canyon Lake. He belonged to the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and the Kelly Rod and Gun Club at Kelly Air Force Base, where he had worked as an air traffic controller. He was a US Army Air Corp veteran who served in WW II. Funeral service is Saturday, Dec. 18 at IO t.m. at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home at Canyon Lake with Rev. Gordon Hightower officiating. Burial will follow Cranes Mill Cemetery. Visitation will be at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home at Canyon Lake on Friday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Tye Preston Memorial Library. He is survived by: wife Leo R. Postell of Canyon Lake; daughter Barbara Kay Keller of St Louis; 9on Donald Ralph Postell of Dallas; sisters Isabel McCauley of Ingram, Texas and Anna B. Lane of Carrizo Springs, Texas; brothels Clyde Postell of Corpus Christi and Clarence Postell of Uvalde, Texas; and grandchildren Wendy Sue Keller, Azure Postell and Robyn Postell, all of Dallas. Doappanachmldt Funeral Homa Arnold Lthmann, Jr. Arnold Lehmann, Jr., of McQieeney, died Thursday, Dec. 16, 1993 at Audi L. Muiphey Memorial Veteran Hospital in San Antonio at the age of 63. Mr. Lehmann was bom Feb. 7,1930 to Arnold and Annie [Schoelzel] Lehmann. On Oct 28,1952 he married Elaine Luc hi ring Mr. Lehmann was a retired truck driver but still worked doing small engine repair and helping at their service station in McQueeney. He is survived by his wife Elaine Lehmann of McQueeney, his mother, Annie Lehmann of New Braunfels, daughters Debra Jo Haas of McQueeney and Delva Carleton and her husband Marcus of McQueeney, stators, Evelyn Schwarzloae and husband mclvin of New Braunfels, Ncida Scfanmk and husband Henry of Seguin and Gerlen Goebel and husband Harold of Sol ms, brothers Leroy Lehmann and wife Evelyn of Seguin and Everett Lehmann and wife Josie of Kingsbury, also seven grandchildren, Dawn Haas, Shawn Haas, Timothy Haas, Travis Carleton, Anthony Haas, Matthew Haas and Amanda Haas. Mr. Lehmann was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Jane in 1957. funeral services will be Saturday, Dec. 18, 1993 at 3 p.m. at Zoeller Funeral Home with burial to follow at Lone Oak Cemetery in Geronimo.
