will be going to court very soon for a Bond Reduc tion Hearing I believe this is a matter of grave concern to the citizens of this community A jury of twelve people that live work and raise fami lies in Comal County found Mr Davis guilty Unlike Carolyn Toth a witness in the case the jury heard ALL the tes timony and saw ALL the evidence and found Mr Davis guilty I believe that the jury did their job to the best of their ability I understand why Ms Toth the apartment manager would be reluctant to concede that Mr Davis was guilty The problem that faces us immedi ately is this If Mr Davis gets a reduced bond and gets out of jail until he can be retried do you want him living next door to your family or friends It is a real possibility I trust in the opinion of that jury and if this happens I think that we can be quite sure that the person that com mitted this crime will indeed be walking the streets of our communi ty A grave injustice has been com mitted against the Balonis family and against this community What price does justice have Just ask the vic tims Larry Herndon New Braunfels Can anything good come out of Califor nia Dear Editor I read with great interest an article in the who may not have read the article it pertained to a proposed tax abatement to induce Apple Computer to build an mil lion 700 employee facility just north of Austin An economist said it could ulti mately provide a S300 million boost to the economy and as many as permanent jobs Sounds good so far The commissioners voted three to two AGAINST the proposal What Are those three crazy All those jobs and SSS affecting the economy NO NO NO Those three are not crazy they are men who are a rare breed today their determination even under intense pressure to uphold high morals meant more than the almighty dollar Just what was the problem Apple Computer Co just like the City of Austin has a company policy of providing benefits insurance to the partners of gay and lesbian employees Apple Computer is headquartered in California 1 have two questions 1 Can anything good come out of California 2 More importantly how would our Comal County Commissioners have voted Lloyd D Ellison New Braunfels Turkey Bowl a good cause not wasteful Dear Editor I would like to respond to a letter in the Dec 1 edition of the paper about the Turkey Bowl at New Braunfels High School Only one turkey was used and was constantly rewrapped Second the turkey used was killed by my son five years ago and was in our freezer In my judgment it was not fit for any human consumption after being frozen so long The Student Council did not buy a turkey to waste as a bowling ball Its a shame that these outstanding young people arent getting the credit they deserve Gail Engler Sponsor NBHS Student Council TEXAS
