Mjjor crimes in August numbered 276 compared to 353 in July. In addition, total calli, reports, accidents and arrests showed a decrease. Calls for service decreased from 3,604 to 3,216 and 911 calls decreased feom 1,314 to 1,146. Total arrests, including arrests for driving while Intoxicated, decreased feom 249 to 146. Arrests for driving while intoxicated decreased feom 12 to six. Within the arrest category for August, 162 were adults and 30 were juveniles. Total vehicle accidents investigated by New Braunfels police decreased feom 176 to 146. All but two categories in therefor crime statistics showed a decrease feom July to August. ■ Murders increased feom zero to one. ■ Sexual assaults stayed the same at three. ■ Robberies decreased from three to one. ■ Assaults decreased from 97 to 67. ■ Burglaries decreased feom 101 to 64. In this category, burglaries of a habitation decreased feom 20 to IS, burglaries of a non-habitation decreased from 14 to seven, burglaries of a motor vehicle decreased feom 62 to 37 md other burglaries decreased feom Ave to four. ■ Thefts and incidents of shoplifting decreased from 130 to 124. ■ Auto thefts decreased from 18 to 16. ■ Arson decreased feom one to zero.
