Braunfels Presbyterian Church the New Braunfels Newcomers Club the Ladies Elks Auxiliary and Daughters of the American Revolution She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Herman Beels who died in 1986 Mrs Beels is survived by her sons Thomas William Beels of Bastrop and Herman Hendrik Sandy Beels of Houston She also is survived by three grand children Cheryl Ann Smith of San Marcos Ricky Beels of Austin and Lynn Angerstien of Dallas She is survived also by five greatgrandchil dren No visitation is scheduled at Doep penschmidt Funeral Home in New Braunfels and in lieu of flowers dona According to reports the driver Michael Thompson 39 of New Braunfels was travelling southbound on Gruene Road when he allegedly drove through a stop sign and skid ded across Post Road The vehicle a green Toyota Land cruiser struck a tree in the backyard of a resident on the road Thompson was transported by Baptist AirLife heli copter to Brook Army Medical Center in San Antonio He was treated and released According to police damage and evidence at the scene shows that exces sive speed was involved Police also said the driver admitted to have been drinking but they had not determined if he was
