Sullens is editor and publisher of the New Braunfels Goodbread should be seated Dear I guess my age makes me a senior I have lived in the New Braunfels area for fifteen Prior to my moving here I lived in two other cities in In each of these cities the Chamber of Com merce worked with the city They did not try to run the I have noted during my stay here that at least some members of the Chamber of Com merce have been through their friendly the city Goodbread did receive the second high est votes in the recent I wonder if there is a reason known only to them why cer tain members of the Chamber of Commerce do not want Goodbread to take his seat on the city I am hoping that Goodbread is permanently seated and that the bad publicity which is hurting our area If the courts decide that Goodbread should notbe seated another election will undoubtedly be called to elect a successor for the vacant council I urge the younger who have much more to lose than we get out to vote and vote for a council person who will not be a lackey of the disrupting members of the Chamber of Province Winkler New Braunfels Kids playing Dear Editor Re City Council Reminds me of kids playing you dont let me Ill take people of District and Butch Benitez was elected last year to represent the folks of District They were not elected to serve some self or another entity or shadow gov ernment within the At the city council 24 May all three councilpersons failed miserably in fulfilling their by absenting them selves from the regular meeting of They just got up and left because as a voiced a vote of confidence and seated James Goodbread as a hold over council Bremer and Ben itez each voted against permitting Good bread to be Having their feathers they abdi cated their duty and responsibility and leaving an insufficient number of coun cilpersons to conduct the business of the All three despite the opinion of city Barry that the seating of a holdover council member would present no and was If these three councilpersons are going to take their hurt feeling home everytime a vote goes against their perhaps they should just stay and let the people of New Braunfels elect people who will act as responsible coming year will be my final year at I am writing concerning the SHORTS One time last school year the student was notified that in the upcoming school year there would be no shorts at all This was stated in the daily one Nothing else was said about the new Did they ever think about the students who were absent that day These students missed the information Even at registration in early August when the Student Handbook was given there was no new information about the new like many proceeded to buy my new school I bought four pairs of not knowing on the first day of school a new addendum was added to the Student stating no shorts would be That addendum should have be given to us at along with the Student Hand All of that money was wasted I Many students and parents were faced with a similar I know and understand that students have taken advantage of the If they feel they have a problem with shorts getting too then why dont they just set a like down to your for Any make them wear some thing like gym anything embarrassing so they wont do it Come shorts are not the most distracting thing in the There are other serious problems at high school that demand more What about the nasty shirts some stu dents wear What about the violent fights What about the too too short skirts There are so many things that are more dis tracting at school than shorts Please recon sider your decision on the NO SHORTS RULE please concentrate on other areas of the school that are in need of Sincerely Rachel Kinman CHS Student t
