THUMB THUMB GIVE DRINKING WATER A HAND Drinking water isn’t as simple as it used to be. Today, water treatment is more extensive, testing more rigorous, and delivery more demanding. Because there’s more going on with drinking water, it requires more of your attention. Be aware of your water source and supplier and visit them during the week of May 2nd through May 8th. Minimize water used for the production of materials by recycling newspapers, aluminum cans and glass containers. Protect your water supply by wisely using and disposing of household, lawn and garden chemicals, and automotive products including gasoline, oil and antifreeze. "Blue Thumb" has been adopted by members of the American Water Works Association as the symbol for National Drinking Water Week.
