Canyon finished with a total of six first place, while the Unicorns came back with one. New Braunfels was without seniors Jason Chew and Joe Sumpter. The varsity girls doubles team of Erin Perkins and Andrea Giesick won first place at the championships, while Alison Bruemmer was a finalist in the girls consolation singles. Cougars CMS girls basketball results Bilith Grade: The team, which is coached by Kathy Hickey, won the consolation championship in a preseason tourney with a 31-28 victory over Kirby. Melissa Moore scored ll points, while Stephanie Thomas and Amanda Simons each had seven. The Red Team defeated Saegert 28-12 and the White Team won 42-26. Stephanie Thomas led the Red with ll points and Kate Boyd had six points. Mara Allen led the White with 12 points and Gail Gitcho had eight The Red Team is 4-1 and the White team is 2-1. Seventh Grade: The team won a tournament championship against Alamo Heights 26-25. Christy Lane scored eight points and Dorothy May added five. Against Saegert the Red Team won 32-17 and the White Team won 51-7. May led the Red with 14 points, while Heather Padalec-ki and Lane scored five. Jill Ebert led the White with 18 and Elizabeth was next with 15 points. The Red Team is 5-1 and the White team is 3-0. Elks Golf Tournament The team of Glen Case, Jack Moore, Jay Crist and Sally Mat-ney won tile Elks Golf Tournament held Feb. 9. The second-place team was Ed Jones, Bob McCabe, Marlene Acheson and F. Clement, There was a tie for third place between the team of Don Stevens, Bill Fairchild, John Reisbig and Mary Mabry, and the team of Doug Miller, G. Chalmers, Ray Metzke and Bonnie McMurry. The longest putt on Hole No. 3 was made by Jay Crist. The lady closest-to-the pin on No. 12 and the man closest-to-the-pin on No. 15 was Ray Metzke.
