Highway 81. Centex has been in the Courtyard Shopping Center for Th years and has outgrown the current facility. The move will allow Centex to broaden its product offering and have more operating space. The new location will also be more central to Centex’s customer base and has its own customer parking. (Photo by Karla Wenzel) Car dealership to debut ad program ComputerLand purchase AUSTIN (AP) — ComputerLand Texas of Arlington, which owns the ComputerLand franchises in four of Texas’ major urban markets, is in the process of completing its purchase of the Austin ComputerLand franchise. Two-year-old ComputerLand Texas already owns franchises in Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth and San Antonio. A new advertising program featuring Bum Phillips will be debuted by the Milt Ferguson Buick-Oldsmobile-Pontiac-GMC dealership in New Braunfels next week. The campaign promotes the sale of “program cars,” automobiles repurchased by an automaker and offered for sale through participating dealers. “It’s an alternative way to buy a car,” Milt Ferguson explained last week. “These are mostly rental or lease repurchase units. TTicy’ll have less than 20,000 miles, the remaining new car warranty will apply and they qualify for new car financing.” Ferguson said he keeps “a spread” of what the Bum Phillips campaign terms “newsed” cars on hand, from the luxurious Buick Park Avenue to the economical Pontiac LcMans, and including vans. Milt Ferguson will debut new advertising featuring Bum Phillips. As an example of the value of such lists new for about $16,500 can be vehicles, he says a Buick Century that sold for about $ 11,000. Comaltex agents receive national honor Jack F. Reinarz and Delroy York of Comaltex Insurance Agency recently were honored by the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors for having maintained their CIC designations for more than IO years. York received his CIC designation in 1978, and Reinarz received his designation in 1981. Education is an important part of Comaltex’s philosophy, as evidenced by the agency’s four certified insurance counselors.
