New Braunfels Herald Zeitung (Newspaper) - July 18, 1991, New Braunfels, Texas Veterinarian Kent Fischer examines the injured left leg of one of the European mute swans from Landa Park. The New Braunfels Parks and Recreation Department on Wednesday took the rare bird, one of three in the park, to the New Braunfels animal doctor for treatment. The leg did not appear to be broken, but instead seemed to have nerve or muscle damage that might require only rest, Fischer said.
