(AP) — The stock market edged upward today in a tentative rebound from Wednesday’s broad decline. The Dow Jones average of 30 industrials rose 2.91 to 2,958.41 by IO a m. on Wall Street. Gainers outnumbered losers by about ll to IO in nationwide trading of New York Stock Exchange-listed issues, with 488 up, 442 down and 538 unchanged. Volume on the Big Board came to 22.73 million shares in the first half hour of trading. Stocks got some support from the credit markets, where interest rates fell on an unexpectedly weak piece of economic data. Results of the competition include: Class A — Hunter Under Saddle: 7th place, Brandy Elliott: 8th place, Katy Ridgway.
