New Braunfels Herald-Zeitung (Newspaper) - May 19, 1991, New Braunfels, Texas New Texas May 1991 Page 5A Endorsements Paul Fraser I know many of you but for those who dont know I moved to New Braunfels in I operated my own beauty parlor business for over 15 1 have always been interested in my community and what is best for my friends and Ive been an active member in the 1st Baptist Church and in the Comal Democratic I worked hard in the effort to roll back city taxes and to stop the cent sales tax I strongly supported the recent elec tion of Rudy Scidcl to City Now I think we are facing one of the most important elections ever in the runoff for District 4 City Just as I could not pcrsonallyvote for Seidel neith er can I vote for Paul but I am absolutely committed to help his cause in any way I He and his wife are personal friends of mine and I have always found him to be honest and dedicated to what he believes is best for our our state and our Through him Ive learned what it means when a Marine says he is loyal to a cause and to do his I urge each of you in District 4 to be sure and vote and I would strongly urge you to consider the outstand ing qualification of Paul Thank Marie Priem New Braunfels SAFE has been slighted by Susan Curtis in her ads of May 8 and May She implies Paul Fraser and group stormed The truth is SAFE was SAFE organized and lead the group and SAFE won another Bob Krueger also helped with a live TV plug for our cause Paul Fraser was there as usual HONESTY was absent from her paid political So that District 4 voters are not swayed by false lets set the record You are entitled to know the REAL TRUTH About 45 concerned citizens Curtis was NOT there went to Stormin Norman won the Persian Gulf and Stormin Fraser is helping win the toxic waste for the we were INVITED into Bill Sims we did not storm As for crippling our fight against consider this BEFORE the storming the Lafarge per mit was grandfathercd by an amendment to the mora torium AFTER the this Lafarge exemption was removed by Sims Logi cal answer this If Lafarge was grandfathered BEFORE the episode but their exemption was removed AFTER the did Stormin Fraser cripple our fight or lead us to another victory Paul Fraser did not scuffle WITH a council mem ber he was pushed BY a council Paul did not threaten a he filed assault charges with the county Prosecuting assaults is not unpredict able behavior it is governments we do WANT a councilman who will uphold the lawl Paul did not make the remark Curtis attributes to him about working with the What he said in response to the question put to all he candidates was and we have it on videotape Yes I And more than I hope they are able to work with me His actual words carry a far more cooperative tone than what Curtis portrayed by distorting what he Paul docs not use the term greedy and incestuous 400 to describe city He uses the term greedy and FINANCIALLY incestuous 400 to describe the network of rich local cronies who control much of our citys power and While many of these people hold positions of influ they can no longer be properly called community Voters approved Paul Erasers positions in the last nine questions submitted to elections by margins of up to 85 When city leaders disagree with 85 percent of the just who is antagonizing whom The TRUE meaning of Pauls remarks about the Rotary Lions Chamber of Commerce and was to let the voters know he owes no political debt to any of these His attitude toward these groups is as positive as Since Logi cal Curtis accused him of no allegiance it makes one wonder about her obligations to all these it was TINA Fraser who coined the phrase Mommy not Paul Following is a partial list of the concerned citizens who went to Austin on that famous
