New Braunfels Herald Zeitung (Newspaper) - February 8, 1991, New Braunfels, Texas Religious Focus Page 4 Friday, February 8, 1991 Saints Peter and Paul planning Parish renewal Saints Peter and Paul parish, along with more than 150 other parishes in the Archdiocese of San Antonio, are set to begin the second Renew season Sunday. Renew is a two-and-a-half-year process of parish renewal that has been used throughout the United States and overseas as well. Each Fall •and Lent, parishioners are invited to enter into the Renew process. This is done through Sunday Mass, take-home materials, prayer, large group activities, and small group faith sharing. During the next six weeks, the Sunday services will focus on the theme “Our response to the Lord.” This Lenten theme is a follow-up to the fall theme of “The Lord’s Call.” A key clement of the Renew Program is faith sharing groups. They are made up of 10 to 12 people who meet weekly for an hour and a half for prayer, Scripture and faith sharing. During Jhe first season, more than 2,500 parishioners and 30,000 diocesan-wide ftarticipatcd in these groups. ’• The groups at Saints Peter and Paul iarc meeting in the evenings Monday through Friday, in the morning on Sunday and Monday and Thursday afternoons.
