Valentine Gifts For All Your CISD Raggedy Ann meets Matisse at Bulverde Primary School vt Bulverde Primary School kindergartners already know that learning can be fun. In an effort lo present a well-rounded curriculum, Comal ISD teachers introduce many subjects to these young students in their first year of formal education. - Art history is a subject not usually associated with five year-olds, but on the Bulverde campus, art teacher Melissa Hoekstra planned a unit entitled, “Raggedy Ann Meets Matisse" to broaden her students’ knowledge of the subject. “I feel all subjects should interrelate,” the kindergarten teacher said. Her goal is to leach children to think creatively before they actually begin an activity. “Literature is one of my favorite ways of introducing an art lesson," she added. Hoekstra used a big Raggedy Ann doll as a tool to take her students through steps that would let them think about their project. “I start with a simple line and build my art program. From there, I integrate all aspects of learning art appreciation and art techniques.” Hoekstra says art can help children academically in many ways. “I try to keep all that in my mind and expand on it when working on a lesson,” she added. “What fun we have!” AIR DUCT CLEANING 'TERRY'S CLEANING c,n SERVICES 829-1322 Ssnmg ms lh County Ans Suits 1172 « Nursing Home Insurance For Folks Age 50-84 Can pay up to $130.00 a day for a lifetime Call today for FREE FACTS including costs, exceptions, limitations, and renewal provisions.
