Davenport says several guides actually tell her where they have found fish and on courage her to fish those places But she usually declines “Sure we have some community holes, but I'm nit going to fish another guide s water unless he in sists I do and I know he's not going to be fishing it that day ’ she said acknowledging the fact that finding fish is a fug part of am guide s workload But Davenport doesn t have to rely upon other fishermen to find or catch bass She has all the ingredients ot a successful fishing guide a good knowledge of the floss' habits the structure and cover they prefer and how to approach it when and when* to use Hie various types of lures, pa Hence; and perhaps most important Iv persistence Tiki she already has received the hacking of several manufacturers including Mariner Motors and Quan tarn rods and reels Lonnie Stanley of Stanley Digs also is one of her sup porters and she prefers either 15- or 20-pound test Berkley Big Game line “I'm really enjoying guiding ' she said lf it s not fun. I don't want to do it And it's really satisfying to see someone else catch fish ” As she spoke. Davenport let a plastic worm fall amid the thick limbs of a hush just off a narrow creek channel on upper Lake Fork The worm never made it to the bol tom She felt the strike and set the hook A chunky bass that fell into Fork s special 14 to 18 inch protected slot limit spun from the hush and quickly w as lifted into the boat The fishing has really been tough here lately Davenport said, releas mg the fish Not just for me but for Fishing Report VI s i in VC He!, - ti,    V    ■ t v Uh* lex.i> Park" and VV irtfile I Vparf CENTRAL BASTROP Water • ear * tog:.-,*- ^-«iln 4 pound", or.
