March 1,1087Students 'share success' during Public Schools Week CISD superintendent encourages parents to take interest in, visit their children's educational sites Or This week is Texas Public Schools Week, and Comal 1SD students are among more than three million young Texans planning activities to show off what they are learning. “Teachers and students are preparing special displays and programs in recognition of Texas Public Schools Week.” said Bill Brown. CISD superintendent. "Parents are especially encouraged to visit the schools, have lunch with the children and visit the classrooms.' ’ This year. Texas Public Schools Week will mark the 133rd anniversary of the public school system in Texas, and school districts will be using the statewide theme, "Share Our Success." As part of the week’s activities. local schools — elementary through high school — will be open for public visitation A schedule of activities in CISD schools is listed below. "More and more, we are coming to realize that the key to America's future lies in the our schools." Brown said. "We need useful, educated citizens to meet the challenge of the future. "Public Schools Week is one way all citizens can participate in our local education system Its our responsibility, as citizens of this com munity. to see that our schools maintain the highest educational level and that quality education for all students is continued. ’ the educator said.
