He began his company continuous service in February 1978 as a project engineer assigned to the office at Mission Valley, then in April of that year to Iselin Mill. New Braunfels. where he was a shift supervisor in the weaving department until January-1981 and in the warp prep department umtl July of that year, assistant department head - spinning-winding until June 1984. and general superintendent until his assignment as superintendent -slashing-weaving at Mission Valley. Earlier, he was employed in weaving at Mission Valley as a shift supervisor from August 1973 until March 1974. as a loom fixer from February 1968. as a weaver from July 1966 and as a loom cleaner from October 1965 A native of New Braunfels. Castenada completed New Braunfels High School and earned his .AA degree in Business aministration at San Antonio College. He and his wife. the former Irene Aldana. of New Braunfels, have five children — .Anna Marie. Sara Ann. Isabelle. Irene and I^she Man — and reside on Route 2. Altwem. New Braunfels. Vernon H Soechting has been promoted to the newly created position of superintendent - dyeing-finishing-inspection-shipping Soechting formerly was manager-planning and technical services at Mission Valley from November 1984 He began his company continuous service in March 1959 in the Mission Valley facility's shipping depart - Jerry L. Clark ment. where he was a folder until July 1961. a packer until October 1963. a checker until May 1965. and a supervisor until January 1972, when he became department head - inspection. He was named department head - finishing-inspection at MA M rn August 1980 and superintendent - weaving-finishmg-mspection in August 1983. In June 1964. he assumed the duties of general superintendent -slashing-finishing-mspection-the position he held until his assignment as manager - planning and technical services Born in Guadalupe County.
