performance in the Parks and Recreation Departments 1985 ConcertsinthePark series at on Tuesday on the dance slab in Landa Park will produce several first time events as well as at least one second time For one it will be the first time that the Heritage Chorale community chorus which usually has performed manystyled but mainly classical choral music in formal spring and fall indoor con certs is to be the featured per Other first aspects are that this will be the Chorales first summertime first outdoor and first program that contains no music in a language other than This in is made up entirely of American patriotic both old and The tunes are mostly rousing ones that all Americans know and love to hear included are Stephen Foster songs and a special version of Yellow Rose of but they will be performed with Chorales usual insistence on fine quality singing and musical Chorale of ficials The conductor will be Richard the Chorales Director for the last three of its six years of ex while the accompanist will also be the regular one the very accomplished Jo Ann playing a piano furnished expressly for this outdoor event and that may well be another first for this concert Especially interesting is another first the Heritage Chorales first public singing of country stlye music in a Fred Waring square dance This leads right into the second time event for this concert the square dance song will simultaneously be performed and by some of the Tobys School of Dance dancers who so very much pleased the audience at the July 16 Concert which was put on by them and other
