New Braunfels Herald Zeitung (Newspaper) - March 28, 1985, New Braunfels, Texas New Braunfels Herald-Ze/fi/ny Thursday, March 28,1985 7A Dear Abby Husband’s Sexual Appetite Is More Than His Wife Can Feed CISD PHOTO Jason Dorsett mans the camera for anchorpersons Deneen Redclift and Ben Morton Film at IO Mountain Valley students try hand at TV news New video equipment at Mountain Valley School is getting a true initiation this week as sixth-grade students record newscasts as part of a reading project. Students in Margaret Speck’s class used books they had read to do a unit on text extenders. Some used the theme or the author as the subject of their news program, while others focused on the weather or the setting of the book. After planning their programs and having rehearsals, each student made a videotape and then played it back for class viewing. “The project has helped broaden the variety of reading for this higher level reading group,” Mrs. Speck said. The first class to use the camera and video cassette recorder went all out, using scenery and sound effects for their recordings. Some even had their own make-up person to adjust a collar or comb their hair before they went“on the air.” "We used all of the features of the equipment — like pause, fade-in and fade-out.” Mrs. Speck said, "to make it just like a newscast on television.” DEAR ABBY: I am 46 years old and my husband is 44. We have been married two years—his third, my second. My problem is that this man is insatiable in the bedroom! He’s been this way ever since we were married. He wants sex at least three times a day. On weekends we spend the whole day in bed. I thought he would eventually slow down, but his sex drive is as strong as ever. He’s a model husband in every other way. but I am exhausted from all this lovemaking. I feel like a prostitute who has to deliver on demand, only I’m not getting paid for it. Once a day would be plenty for me, but he insists it’s not enough for him. I want to be a good wife, and I'm afraid if I deny him he will go elsewhere to satisfy himself. What can I do? I don’t want to lose him EXHAUSTED IN PALO ALTO DEAR EXHAUSTED: Look at the facts: Your husband’s sexual appetite far exceeds yours, but you continue to deliver on demand like an unpaid prostitute for fear you’ll lose him. Meanwhile, you’re exhausted. My dear lady, you must tell your “model husband” exactly how you feel. If you lack the courage, see a counselor who will surely call your husband in, since he is part of the problem. You need to be assured that your feelings are every bit as important as his. And he needs to know it. too. If you married for love, perhaps you have the w rong man. And if he married for sex, perhaps he has the wrong woman. DEAR ABBY It happened again, and I am furious’ Someone with whom I correspond sent my letter on for others to read without asking my permission to do so. Would you call that ethical? Is it necessary for a person to state in so many words that the writer does not want his/her letter sent to another? Or shouldn’t that be assumed? I would appreciate your printing this. I think I know what you will say, but some people need to see it in black and white. FUMING IN BURLINGTON, IOWA DEAR FUMING: Is it ethical? No. Don’t assume anything. Remember, the pen is not only mightier than the sword, it can be equally dangerous. So if you’re concerned about your letters being recycled, write nothing incriminating, or write nothing at all. DEAR ABBY: Two years ago, my watch stopped, so I decided I d try to fix it myself with a feather and some kerosene. While trying to pry the back open, I dropped the watch. I picked it up and dropped it again. This time all the insides fell out, so I picked up the pieces and put them together again. Believe it or not, that watch has kept perfect time ever since. How can vou explain it? IDA IN LAGUNA HILLS DEAR IDA: Beginner’s luck. It’s like “repairing” a vending machine with a kick! Calendar of Events Government New Braunfels Utilities Board: 4:30 rn.
