New Braunfels Herald-Zeitung (Newspaper) - March 13, 1985, New Braunfels, Texas Aggies lose in Page 10A Sports HvraldZeitung March 8A AllDistrict 134A New Braunfels had one of its most successful basketball seasons ever in and here are some of the players who made it possible the firstteam AllDistrict 134A DERYL David Caddell OEHYL Victor Sierra Heather Seay Wilkins grab top district honors DERYL Leona Soechting Eight local boys and six girls have been named to the AllDistrict 134A teams in The New Braunfels boys team heads the list with Coach Cliff Wilkins named Coach of the Year and post Tilo Schmidt selected as the Districts Most Valuable Joining Schmidt on the first team are Victor Sierra and David Canyons Todd Banks and Ronnie Rittimann were also named to the first Cougars David Hays and Rodney Hansen as well as New Braunfels Damon Millett were named as honorable i The girls alldistrict team was headed by Canyons Leona Soechting and Nancy as well as Kim Wright and Heather Seay from New Named to the honorable mention team were Sherry Wood of Canyon and Heather Woods of New Schmidt led the Unicorns to the state semifinals by averaging points a New Braunfels finished the season with a 1912 losing to Lamesa in the semifinals in Caddell averaged points for the Unicorns while Sierra chipped in an average points per Millett averaged points per game for New Banks led Canyon with a pointspergame The Cougars finished with a 1515 74 in earning them a tie for second place with Rittimann averaged points per including a team record 47 points against Luling on Hays averaged points for the Cougars while Hansen averaged points per Tieken and Soechting led the Cougarettes to a 914 37 in district Tieken averaged points per game for Canyon while Soechting averaged Wood averaged points per game for the Wright led New Braunfels with an Seay avearged points while Woods added an average of points per game for the New Braunfels finished 918 on the 25 in district AllDistrict 134 A Boys First Team Player Team Tilo Schmidt unanimousl Braunfels Tim Kaman unanimous Randy Glover Jason Warren Tivy See Page 12A DERYL LESLIt KRIEWALDT HERALD ZEITUNC3 Todd Banks LESLIE ZEITUNb Kim Wright LESLIE DEHYL IUNU LESUE Tilo Schmidt Ronnie Rittimann Nancy Tieken ;
