New Braunfels Herald Zeitung (Newspaper) - April 8, 1983, New Braunfels, Texas Entertainment Harald-Zritung Friday, April 8,1983 Spotlight Keyboard sub BUI Knight, the manager and piano man at Wolfgang’s Keller, will be going out of state this weekend. His presence has been requested at his mom’s 80th birthday party in Chicago, and who can turn down an offer like that. Rather than shutting down the jazz show on Sunday night, Knight has another piano player, Fred Salas, rounded up to take his place. Drummer Tommy Marotte, bass Clark Marshall and sax player Lyle Kirk will be there as usual on Sunday, along with whatever additional musicians show up. Knight will be back in the Keller on Wednesday of next week. Music in the hills S.T.A.G.E. Inc. of Bulverde will present its first musical production, Something's Afoot, April 15-17 and 23-24 at the Bulverde Community Center. All performances will be at 8 p.m. except the last one. which will be a 2 p.m. matinee. For ticket information, call Zada Jahnsen at 438-2339. Styled "a musical murder mystery,” Something's Afoot features a cast of IO. It was produced by STAGE, managing director Glynn Turner. Patricia Coffee is musical director. Great Americans Actor Kevin McCarthy will play the United States’ straightest-talking president in an April 14 production of Give 'Em Hell. Harry at Southwest Texas State University. This one-man show, written by Samuel Gallu, will be presented at 8:15 p.m. in Evans Auditorium. McCarthy appeared in the recent NBC series Flamingo Road. Another American historical figure will come alive on stage April 15-16, when Burdette Parks stars in Frankly, B Franklin. This show, dramatized from the writings of Benjamin Franklin, was researched and written by Parks Central Texas audiences may remember him as the man behind the Melodrama Theatres in San Antonio and Austin. Performances of B Franklin are set for 8 p.m. Friday and 3 p.m. Saturday rn the Lyndon B. Johnson Student Center.
