test By JACQUELINE SMITH Staff wr With wanner temperatures returning to Comal it can only mean one thing tourist season isnt too far And that means River Road will once again become a center of This Comal Commissioners Court has a new traffic plan ready to put into action which it hopes will ease some of that traffic congestion on that Most of the traffic signs outlined in a plan authorized by the court last September have already or are being installed along River said Tim Commissioners Court ad According to this there are very few areas of River Road where cars can legally And for those drivers who disobey the noparking wreckers will be on hand to tow away ac cording to the countys The courts proposal calls for noparking in such hazardous areas such as bridge dangerous tight squeezes caused by cliffs and trees and anywhere where there is not clearance to legally By designating these hazardous areas as no parking commissioners hoped to ease some of the traffic congestion that occurs on that road during tourist The court also hoped that this new plan would allow easier access for emergency vehicles and law enforcement The recommendations for where to place no parking signs came from a proposal made to the court last summer by a River Road citizens com led by resident Joe Commissioners Court altered the committees proposal slightly by rejecting its plan for a public loading zone on River Road and by calling for ab solutely noparking between the second and third river The committee had allowed for some parking along specific areas between these two When the court adopted the restrictions for River Road last it acknowledged that their latest plan was not a definite solution to the traffic problems on River they opted for this temporary solution at the suggestion of then precinct 4 Commissioner Heitkamp in view of work being done by the Comal County Growth and Development This which is completing its study on how the county is being affected by con sidered River Roads Its Heitkamp noted last that the committee will recommend future legislation for coping with River Heitkamp has since been replaced by current Commissioner Bill who defeated Heitkamp in the general The growth committee will turn over its final recommendations to Commissioners Court later this or early next Funeral home employee retires after 64 years Richard a longtime
